The Regional History Museum participates in the preparation of the Feast of Razgrad – January 28, with the exhibition of the Ossuary Museum on Vazrazhdane Square.

First, museum specialists placed a portrait of Tsar Alexander II high on the facade of the Mausoleum, and later arranged the arms pyramid and candlesticks inside the building. Fourth-graders from “N. Yonkov Vaptsarov ”, as well as many citizens who entered the Mausoleum with their children before the start of the citywide celebration.

The celebration of the 144th anniversary of the Liberation of Razgrad was right on Vazrazhdane Square, the place where on January 28, 1878 the people of Razgrad welcomed the Russian troops led by Prince Alexander Dondukov-Korsakov.

Traditionally, the ritual began with the introduction of the ossuary of the icons of the saints-warriors in the Mausoleum St. Dimitar, St. George and St. Alexander Nevsky, the last of which was donated by the liberators of Razgrad 144 years ago.

“Today, 144 years ago, the new chronicle of Razgrad and Ludogorie began. It had everything – ups and downs, bloody wars, times of hard work, creation and creativity. But Razgrad and the people of Ludogorie never gave up, neither the difficulties nor the severe troubles managed to break them “, said in his holiday speech the mayor Dencho Boyadzhiev. He emphasized that, having overcome everything, today the citizens of Razgrad with persistent dignity continue their way forward through time.

A greeting for the holiday followed from the Consul General of Russia in Ruse Andrei Gromov. A congratulatory address was read by the Minister of Defense Stefan Yanev. “I sincerely wish you the decision to declare 2022 the year of Cap. Hristo Bardarov to receive a wide positive public response and to contribute to the image of the Municipality of Razgrad as a patriotic, modern and dignified Bulgarian municipality “- the text reads.

Congratulatory address for the city holiday was also received by the Deputy Speaker of the 47th National Assembly Iva Miteva. In front of the citizens present on the square was read the congratulatory address of the leadership of the Russian sister city of Razgrad – Orel.

More than 60 representatives of institutions and organizations from various fields laid wreaths and flowers in front of the two monuments, the Ossuary Mausoleum of the Russian Soldiers and the Military Monument. Among them: Mayor Dencho Boyadzhiev and the Chairman of the Municipal Council, Consul General of Russia in Ruse Andrei Gromov, on behalf of the Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly Iva Miteva, members of parliament Marin Shishev and Gunay Husmen, Regional Governor Deyan Dimitrov, the new honorary citizen Angel Petrichev, representatives of religious communities, political forces, educational and cultural institutions, organizations, citizens.

Part of the program on the square was a dance performance by the Kapan ensemble, and at the end the sky above Razgrad was lit with multicolored fireworks.

Three other events preceded the citywide celebration: in the morning in the church “St. Nikolai Chudotvorets” a water consecration ceremony was held by Metropolitan Nahum of Ruse for the health of the citizens of Razgrad and a funeral prayer for the fallen Bulgarian volunteers and Russian soldiers for the Liberation of the city.

In the early afternoon, motorcyclists from the two Razgrad clubs “Ludogorski Brothers” and “Night Riders” again this year joined a procession entitled “Liberation of Razgrad – in the footsteps of memory.” They laid wreaths and flowers at the Military Monument near the main road Ruse-Varna in the area of the village of Ezerche.

Wreaths and flowers were laid in front of the monument to Captain Hristo Bardarov with the assistance of the Club of Officers and Sergeants from the Reserve. On the occasion of the 105th anniversary of his heroic death, the Municipality of Razgrad announced 2022 as the Year of Cap. Bardarov. Born in Razgrad Capt. Bardarov took part in the battle of Tutrakan in 1916, dying under the age of 27 in a fierce battle near the village of Pogradec (Wet Mountain), defending the approaches to Ohrid and Struga in 1917, during the First World War.
