The house museum of “Acad. Ananie Yavashov”, at 20 “Venelin” Str., opened to the public on the 25th February 2011, after the implemented project of Razgrad Municipality, under EU OPRD.
Acad. Ananie Yavashov (grandfather of the popular worldwide Bulgarian-American architect Christo Javacheff) was a distinguished teacher in Razrgad, the head of the local High school, a public figure and botanist, a passionate researcher of the Ludogorie region, who began the first archaeological excavations of the ruins of Abritus. The house, where he was born, welcomes guests and lovers of various arts, educational programs, regional history studies and others. It hosts exhibitions of various exponents from the diverse archives of the Regional History Museum, as well as visiting expositions. A Regional History Club is functioning within the museum.
