MIRA DOBREVA PRESENTED HER NEW NOVEL AT THE “STANKA AND NIKOLA IKONOMOVI” HOUSE MUSEUM
“Here you can feel the spirit of the words”, said the journalist Mira Dobreva at the presentation of her new novel “Fireflies behind the bars” in the house museum “Stanka and Nikola Ikonomovi”.

The event was part of the program of the first evening of the festival of tangible and intangible cultural heritage “White Nights of Razgrad 2024”. The symbolic host was the Regional Library “Prof. Boyan Penev”. In the courtyard of the revival house, the writer was greeted with white jam by the director of the Regional History Museum, Tanya Todorova.

Mira Dobreva recalled that she came to Razgrad to photograph the “living human treasure” Nikolinka Angelova. She was also impressed by the place where her book was presented – the courtyard of the house of the first Bulgarian poet Stanka Nikolitsa Spaso-Elenina, and repeated several times that “the spirit of the times is felt here”.

Before the presentation of the book, Kalina Radoslavova and Marina Minkova of the “Enjoy Music” School performed a song each, for which they received special congratulations from the writer. Mayor Dobrin Dobrev wished the author that these would not be the last books she presents in Razgrad, assuring her that our fellow citizens are awake and love to read, he congratulated her for deciding to describe in books the many interesting stories with which she met as a journalist.
EXHIBITION, CLASSICAL MUSIC AND DANCING IN THE ANANIE YAVASHOV HOUSE MUSEUM
An exhibition, concert of classical music and dances in the Ananie Yavashov Museum – also part of the first “White Night of Razgrad”.

Prof. Rositsa Angelova PhD, head of the “New and Recent History” department at the Regional History Museum, opened the exhibition prepared by her, dedicated to the 145th anniversary of the birth of Grigor Nikolov Popov /Grishata/ – about the man Grigor Popov – theater actor , journalist and editor of the longest-running Razgrad newspaper “Razgradsko Slovo” until 1944. The curator of the exhibition and author of the poster is the designer at the museum, Mihail Marinov.

The visitors, including Mayor Dobrin Dobrev and Deputy Mayor Elka Nedelcheva, also had the opportunity to receive a copy of the first issue of Razgradsko Slovo, in the introductory article of which are written things that are relevant today: “We are interested in the issue of cleanliness, the improvement and lighting of our city. We are interested in the manners, morals, economic life of the city and our surroundings. On the basis of these and other questions of a social and cultural nature, we will try to unite the citizenry so that we can achieve the necessary result with common efforts.

The symbolic host of the “Ananie Yavashov” museum taking place in the house was the community center “Development 1869”. The musical performances were by graduates of the Music School at the community center. The dance etude “Key to yourself” was presented by the girls and boys from the “Pulse” Theater and Dance Formation.
SAINT JOHN’S TRADITIONS WERE PRESENTED IN THE ETHNOGRAPHIC MUSEUM
Reenactment in dance and music of rituals related to Saint John’s Day and the power of herbs were recreated in the Ethnographic Museum by dancers from the Kapan Ensemble and the “Nazam Hikmet Stage at the Theater-Musical and Philharmonic Center. And this event was part of the first of the “White Nights of Razgrad”, the symbolic host of which was the Kapan Ensemble.

The visitors saw a guy in love, a sad mother, samodivi and beautiful girls in the show directed by Ilonka Nedelcheva. They also saw “that for every pain there is an herb.”

The guests passed through St John wreath of various herbs, took a sip of wormwood, which is used to wash the eyes against evil eyes, and received a wristlet with a red thread and a blessing. The children and the braver adults also jumped over a fire for health, and took home a live coal.
