General:

The competition is held for the first year. We will look for the most intelligently presented photos that visualize a different perspective of creativity, a sense of preservation and promotion of cultural and historical heritage.

The competition is held in four directions:

1. “Family Remembrance from Abritus”;
2. “Cheerful and funny greeting from Abritus”;
3. “Special moment from Abritus” /birthday, prom, wedding or other special occasion sealed in Abritus/;
4. “Summer breeze with the aroma of ancient history” /landscape photo/.

Objectives:

• To provide an opportunity for visitors to express their vision of ancient Abritus, to show its beauty and create a memory in a different way through the lens.

Eligibility for participation:

All individuals, visitors to Abritus during the summer season, have the right to participate in the contest without age restrictions.

Territory of the photo contest:

• The photo must be taken on the territory of the Archaeological Reserve “Abritus” – this includes both the external grounds and the museum expositions of the Archaeological and Interactive Museum.

Requirements for submitted works:

• The competition works must be on the subject and be author’s;
• Additional processing of brightness and contrast of the photo is allowed;
• Processing such as: collages, photos taken in non-regulated places and containing inscriptions and graphics are not allowed;
• The works have not participated in other competitions and have not been published on the Internet.

To the participants:

• Everyone can participate with up to THREE photos in each direction;

• The photos are sent to e-mail: abritus.konkurs@abv.bg

• The photos must be in digital JPG format;
• file size must not be less than 1 MB and greater than 20 MB;
• The works must be accompanied by the following information: name of the photo, a short text describing the situation or story of the photo, the three names of the participant, age, exact address and contact phone number.

Rating:

The photos will be examined and evaluated by a competent jury.

First places in the four sections of the competition will be broadcast.

Evaluation criteria:

• Does the photo correspond to the theme of the contest;
• Is there a message /intention/ in the frame;
• Does it have artistic value – contrast between light and shadow, aesthetic qualities, originality of the idea;
• Has the regulation and the technical requirements therein been complied with;
• The jury chooses finalists among the photographs, who are selected for participation in the exhibition and ranking of the authors;

By submitting their photo, each author:

• Declare that he owns the copyright on it and gives his consent for it to be used and published for the purposes of the competition;
• He agrees that his name as the author will be mentioned in the use of his photographs.

Photos that violate the above requirements will be disqualified.

Deadline for submission of works – 15.09.2023.

The awarded works will be announced on 01.10.2023
