On the occasion of May 18 – the International Day of Museums, the Regional History Museum in Razgrad received several congratulatory addresses.
In the congratulatory address by Mrs. Ekaterina Djumalieva and the team of the Department “Museums, Galleries and Visual Arts” in the Ministry of Culture it is said:
“Dear colleagues and friends,
Happy professional holiday! For us, the team of the KNMII directorate, this day is another one
wonderful reason to express our sincere respect for the professionalism of the museum staff
specialists for whom the museum is not an event or a pleasant visit, but a daily effort demanding
scientific knowledge, creative thinking, communication skills and many other talents in the most
different aspects of life.
Your work lies at the crossroads of the past and the present, thus defining
the future. You show the past through modern means and care for future generations.
It is not always easy, but the more valuable your efforts and achievements. The museum is a calling
because not everyone can bear the burden of this responsibility. It’s a great love for the past,
history, art, nature and society. To work in a museum you need a broad soul,
open heart and bright mind.
We wish you permanent smiles on the faces of visitors, amazing exhibitions,
interesting discoveries, but also kindness, health and a wonderful mood in every day of
your job!
Happy holiday!”
The congratulatory address by Prof. Svetla Dimitrova – Chairman of the Bulgarian National Committee to the International Council of Museums /ICOM” sounds like this:
“Dear colleagues and friends of the museums!
In 1977, at its XI General Conference in Moscow, the International Organization of Museums decided to mark May 18 as International Museum Day. The first events are next year. From then to today, already 46 years ago, May 18 has been permanently inscribed in the life not only of museums, but also of all people and institutions that collect, preserve and promote cultural heritage, of all those who visit museums and enrich their knowledge there, to all those who donate family values for others to admire.
The theme of the International Day in 2024 is “Museums for Education and Research”. She emphasizes the ever-increasing role of museums in educating people of different ages, through interesting, emotional and interactive study of the past. This theme puts new emphasis on their important place in research processes. With hard and systematic work, museum specialists contribute to the enrichment of various branches of science. Sometimes they carry out this activity at the expense of their free time, but they do it with love and dedication.
Happy holiday, dear colleagues!
Stay healthy and don’t forget that by working in museums you have the privilege of having your work recorded in the memory of time.”
Congratulations on the RHM – Razgrad holiday were also received from Boris Hadjiyski – Chairman of the Association “Bulgarian Museums”:
“Happy holiday, colleagues!
Be healthy!”
