Two dozen children participated in the second week of the Regional History Museum’s summer educational program “Adventures in Abritus”. Traditionally, each of the five days began with physical exercises to wake up and concentrate, and then the children, guided by museum pedagogue Hristo Hristov, archaeologist Silvia Anastasova, designer Mihail Marinov and numismatist Vladimir Bekov PhD, traveled throughout the Roman Empire and got acquainted with the lifestyle and customs of those who once lived in Abritus.
The children first stocked a store by discovering products hidden in various places, then cooked according to ancient recipes, laid out Roman mosaics, learned Roman maxims, sang and played the guitar, participated in the Olympic Games, and in the finale, they became archaeologists who discovered coins and artifacts during excavations and restored them themselves. And all this – accompanied by many and varied board and sports games – the same ones that their peers played in ancient Abritus.
At the farewell party, the children received certificates for their participation in the program and a gift – a magical black cup that changes color when hot tea or chocolate is poured into it.

The museum workers thanked the children for the emotions they experienced together and are expecting the next group of children in the third – penultimate for this year, week of “Adventures in Abritus”.
