On 28 July, another group of 35 children participating in the “Eco Summer 2026” environmental education programme visited the Ethnographic Museum in Razgrad.
The children were of different ages, united by their interest in the historical sites in the city. Led by teachers, they visited the exhibitions in the Ethnographic Museum. The children also viewed the exhibition “Goldsmithing in Panagyurishte – Tradition and Development”, provided by the Panagyurishte Historical Museum. They learned a lot about the role of goldsmithing in this region in the preparation of the April Uprising, they also learned about the different methods of processing gold and turning it into exquisite jewelry works of art created by Bulgarian masters. From the many photos they learned how Bulgarian women wore head and body ornaments – brooches and necklaces as part of the folk costumes. The talks to the children were given by the tour guide from the Regional Historical Museum Tsvetomir Penchev.
The children also visited the exhibition “Green Heritage from the Heart of the Balkans” – an exhibition of the Cherni Osam Natural History Museum in the “Ananae Yavashov” house museum. They were welcomed by the curator Dr. Viktor Kostadinov, who gave them an interesting talk on the topic of the exhibition and answered all questions about the peculiarities of ceramic floristry, by which method the realistic models of flowers and plants presented in the exhibition were made.
In the courtyard of the Ethnographic Museum, sports competitions were organized for children by Lieutenant Colonel Ventsislav Bonev from the Razgrad Military District. At the end of the competition, the first three were awarded with advertising materials and magnets from the museum, and the fastest competitor received a backpack from the Military District.
The initiatives continue in the area of Abritus and the Teatron stage.
