The director of the Regional History Museum, Tanya Todorova, opened the exhibition “The female ruler of clay”, which presents the life and work of the talented master of ceramics, Eli Nedelcheva, who left this world in 2011, not yet 50 years old.

The exposition arranged in the Ethnographic Museum in Razgrad is part of the Razgrad Municipality’s cultural program for this year’s European Heritage Days “Routes, Networks and Connections”.

Guests at the opening were the chairman of the Municipal Council Galina Georgieva, the deputy mayor of Razgrad Zornitsa Evgenieva, Katerina Ganeva – head of the “Culture, tourism and international relations” department in Razgrad Municipality, citizens, friends of Eli Nedelcheva.

“The thematic route, the network and connection of the Razgrad cultural heritage – part of the European one – is the ancient craft practiced by Eli Nedelcheva, who turns her clay products into works of art. With this exhibition, we express our recognition to Ellie and her contribution to the national, European and world material cultural heritage”, Tanya Todorova said in her speech”.

The exhibition was presented by Neno Yakimov, curator in the department of “New and Latest History” in RHM – Razgrad. In the hall are arranged the works of Eli Nedelcheva, donated to the museum by her relatives. In one of the showcases is part of the author’s personal archive – sketches of vessels and drawings of their ornamentation. Different periods in the rich creative biography of Eli Nedelcheva, recipient of the “Golden Pegasus” award of Razgrad Municipality for achievements in the field of arts, are traced on separate panels in text and photos.

The exhibition is the work of the museum specialists in the “New and Latest History” department Prof. Dr. Rositsa Angelova and Neno Yakimov, the curator is the designer Mihail Marinov. It can be viewed until October 30. The price of tickets for adults is 5 BGN, for students and pensioners – 2 BGN, and for people with disabilities, children up to 7 years of age are free to enter.
