The fund of the “New and Recent History” department of the Regional History Museum has been enriched with a black and white postcard with a view of the central part of Razgrad from nearly 100 years ago.

The card was donated by the editorial board of the newspaper “Ekip 7” and the certificate for this was presented to the editor-in-chief of the publication Mitko Hanchev by the director of the museum Tanya Todorova.

According to Hanchev, the photo was taken in the 1930s or at the latest in the 1940s. This was proven by the memories of elderly Razgrad residents who saw the photo in the newspaper’s editorial office.

How different the space was then is felt mostly because the Clock Tower is visible to the left of the mosque, something that is now impossible due to the shaping of “Nezavisimost” square and the construction of the Municipal Cultural Center building in its western part.

This is the latest donation within the framework of the initiative “For Givers with Gratitude” announced by the Regional History Museum in Razgrad, which started in October. Information about the previous ones can be found at the facebook page and website of the museum.
