A group of students from eighth to twelfth grade at the “Hristo Smirnenski” Vocational High School of Transport and Construction visited the Ethnographic Museum today to view the “Valor and Honor” exhibition, which was opened last week as part of the festive program for Razgrad Day on January 28.
The young people listened with interest to the talk by the curator of the Regional History Museum, Kristijan Mladenovski, about the Russo-Turkish War of 1877-1878, the place of Razgrad and the Bulgarian militia in it.

The exhibition is the work of specialists from the Department of “New and Recent History” at the Regional History Museum, headed by Prof. Rositsa Angelova PhD. The exhibition features collectible firearms, watches, personal belongings and other items of war participants, provided by the Military History Club “46th Infantry Dobrich Regiment”. The exhibition also features Turkish, Russian, Cossack and militia uniforms from this period. A special place is dedicated to the Bulgarian militia.

The visit is another event, part of the good cooperation between the Vocational High School of Transport and Construction “Hristo Smirnenski” and the Regional History Museum in recent years. The mobile exhibition dedicated to the 145th anniversary of the birth of Grigor Nikolov Popov /Grisha/ – a theater actor, journalist and editor of the longest-running Razgrad newspaper “Razgradsko Slovo” until 1944 – is hosted in the central lobby of the high school. And on the eve of Razgrad Day, the director of RHM-Razgrad Tanya Todorova was a special guest at the ceremony of opening a military corner and consecrating the flag of the Bulgarian Army in the high school, part of the implementation of a project under the National Program “Study and Preservation of the Traditions and History of the Bulgarian Army” of the Ministry of Education and Science and the Ministry of Defense, in which the museum is a partner of the school.
