Museum pedagogue Hristo Hristov and tour guide Polina Nedelcheva from the Regional History Museum in Razgrad took part in the second festival of archeology in the Archaeological Reserve “Sboryanovo” near the village of Sveshtari.
Visitors to the tent could could try from the ancient Roman sacrificial bread made from cheese called Libum. “The bread is based on an original recipe by Marcus Gavius Apicius – the most famous Roman author of cookbooks in antiquity. Libum was prepared for the birthdays of the gods and guardian spirits. From it originated the modern tradition of making a birthday cake. The libum was dipped in warm honey while it was still warm”, Hristo Hristov told them. Everyone also got the original recipe for the preparation of the ancient Roman bread.
Those who came to the workshop of RHM-Razgrad changed into antique clothes, played board games from the time of the Roman Empire. Hristo Hristov and Polina Nedelcheva presented them with the sites of RHM – Razgrad and gave them promotional materials as a gift.
The festival was organized by the “Helis” Association with the support of the History Museum in Isperih.
