The Regional History Museum in Razgrad followed the tradition and issued another luxurious multi-page calendar.
An icon, gospel, crosses, firearms, swords, scimitars and other artifacts from the XV-XIX centuries from the museum fund illustrate the information about the days, weeks and months of 2024.
The icon on the title page has a text engraved around it about the important event – a gift to the residents of Razgrad by Russian senior military officers on the occasion of the anniversary of the Liberation of the city in 1878. The icon and an enthroned gospel, which illustrates the month of November 2024, were part of the thematic exhibition “Illustrated chronicle of the war and the liberation of the Razgrad area”, organized last January in the Ethnographic Museum on the occasion of Razgrad Day. In the showcases at that time were some of the original Russian and Turkish weapons from the museum’s collection: rifles, sabers and scimitars. They are now on the calendar pages. As can be seen from the jewelry work and inlays on the stocks, handles and blades, the weapons were made by gunsmiths to order for high-ranking officers in the armies of the time.
The idea is that the illustrations on the pages of another luxurious multi-page calendar and these artifacts will reach the widest possible range of people and promote the rich historical and scientific fund of the museum.
The author of the calendar layout is the museum designer Mihail Marinov.
The calendar will reach all cultural institutes in Razgrad, it will be received in many museums, universities, organizations and departments in the country with which RHM – Razgrad partners.
It can be purchased for 20 BGN at the museum’s Ticket Center – phone: 0878 90 14 39.
