On June 16, an exhibition of works by the participants in this year’s international plein air “Mystique and Reality” – 12th edition – was opened at the Art Gallery “Prof. Iliya Petrov” in Razgrad. The plein air takes place every 2 years and is organized by the gallery with the assistance of the Municipality of Razgrad.

This year, 9 authors from Bulgaria and Romania participated in the event: Anastasia Tonkova, Boris Zhelev, Bozhidar Tonev, Damyan Bumbalov, Elena Dragulelei, Nikolay Krastev, Todor Todorov, Hristo Nikolov, Tsvetomira Todorova. The authors each created two works that remain in the gallery’s collection.

Representatives of the Regional Historical Museum attended the opening of the exhibition, in response to the kind invitation of the organizers. They viewed the paintings and admired the creative diversity. The Head of the “Administrative and Economic” Department at the Regional Historical Museum Kalina Karbasheva delivered a congratulatory address to the Director of the Gallery Teodor Daskalov, on behalf of the Director of the Museum Tanya Todorova. It congratulates on the participation, organization and holding of this year’s edition of the international plein air “Mystique and Reality”.

“As a result of the participation of eminent artists, the fund of the Razgrad Art Gallery “Prof. Iliya Petrov” is being enriched with valuable works of fine art this year as well”, the congratulatory address further states.

“Their value is great, they are a source of pride for all Razgrad residents, because they were created amidst the beautiful nature of the recreation area near our city. It is joyful that we can enjoy the exhibition of paintings created during the plein air. We express deep gratitude to the organizers of the event for their efforts to make Razgrad the center of an event that brings together artists not only from the country, but also from abroad, exchanging experience, outlining new trends, and creating fruitful contacts between artists. May the opportunities provided by the plein air continue to develop”, the congratulatory address from the Regional History Museum – Razgrad states.
