On March 20, the internship of the trainee tour guides – 10th grade students from the “Robert Schuman” School of Economics, from the “tourism” class, ended at the Regional History Museum in Razgrad, announced the director of the cultural institution, Tanya Todorova.

For almost four months, the students conducted their internship at the museum under the guidance of museum educator Hristo Hristov. During this time, the interns had the opportunity to have direct first-hand contact with museum activities and the local cultural and historical heritage, combining theoretical knowledge with real work and practical skills in the institution.

In the first weeks, the girls got to know the museum’s educational initiatives and the way their director, Hristo Hristov, interacts with the public. After the New Year holidays, their work continued with participation in educational talks in the museum’s exhibitions on the territory of the “Abritus” Archaeological Reserve. It was in them that the students had the opportunity to enrich their knowledge of history by getting acquainted with the exhibits on display and learning more about their significance, as well as mastering the basic principles of museum presentation of information.

At the final stage of their internship, they gave their own talk in the archaeological exhibition, through which they presented the knowledge, skills and competencies they had already acquired. Their presentation was listened to and evaluated by their museum supervisor Hristo Hristov, the director Tanya Todorova, their history teacher Sunay Yahov and other museum specialists.

In recognition of the demonstrated commitment, creativity, and work skills, the interns and their instructor were presented with special gifts—scientific literature, souvenirs, and promotional materials from the museum.

This initiative is another example of the successful cooperation between educational institutions and the museum to promote interest in history and local cultural heritage.

The internships are part of the museum’s activities with schools, which aims to promote the cultural heritage of Razgrad among the youngest residents of Ludogorie, commented the director of the institution Tanya Todorova. This type of internship has been organized by RHM-Razgrad together with the “R. Shuman” Vocational High School of Economics for the fifth year and has yielded excellent results. Every year, a contract is signed between the museum and the educational institution for the implementation of the internship, during which young people acquire skills as tour guides, while at the same time gaining knowledge about the history, archeology, and culture of the Razgrad region.
