The third educational week of the “Adventures in Abritus” program of the Regional History Museum – Razgrad ended with many smiles, new knowledge and creative challenges.
The beginning of the week was dedicated to the Roman gods and beliefs in antiquity. The children were introduced to the most revered deities in Ancient Rome, their symbols and their place in people’s everyday lives. After the educational talk, each participant made their own model of a laurel wreath – a symbol of victory, glory and honor.
The second day was dedicated to the Roman taberna – a kind of fast food shop in Antiquity. Through an entertaining card game, the children had to correctly arrange the elements of the taberna and learn more about the diet of the Romans.
The theme of the third day was inspired by Roman architecture. Each participant had the opportunity to express their imagination by creating their own model of a Roman building or object typical of the era.
The next challenge was dedicated to the ancient pentathlon. The children competed in several disciplines – standing jump, discus throw and 50-meter run, getting to know the sporting traditions of Antiquity.
The final day was spent at the antique market. Each participant had the opportunity to take on the role of a merchant or buyer and exchange goods such as fabrics, food products, spices, jewelry, weapons, and even animals.
At the end of the educational week, all participants received gifts from the director of the Regional History Museum – Razgrad Tanya Todorova. We thank all the little participants for their enthusiasm and unforgettable moments! We are waiting for them again in the next adventures from Antiquity!
