The Director of the Regional History Museum Tanya Todorova personally presented the Special Award of the Museum to Ivana Hosrovyan.
The talented pianist was one of the 29 participants in the Tenth edition of the “Dimitar Nenov” Young Pianist Competition. The jury recognized her as the best performer of a work by Dimitar Nenov. Ivana Hosrovyan is a student of piano teacher Nina Georgieva at the Razgrad Academy “1, 2, 3 Start”.

The award ceremony for the winners in the five age groups and the gala concert of the laureates were held in the hall of the “Razvitie” community center. And as a beautiful tradition dictates – the youngest ones left the competition, in addition to the awards and certificates, with huge plush toys.

The Tenth edition of the Dimitar Nenov Young Pianist Competition was opened a day earlier at the Ethnographic Museum. The ceremony was hosted by the director of the Regional History Museum Tanya Todorova. She welcomed the participants in the competition and their parents and teachers, and then briefly recalled moments from the life and creative path of the famous Razgrad resident, whose name the competition bears. And she defined Dimitar Nenov as a key figure for the entire Bulgarian culture. “In his memory and in order to preserve and popularize the musical heritage of Dimitar Nenov, the people of Razgrad dedicate a number of musical holidays and competitions. An example of this is the holding of the National Young Pianist Competition, which we are opening today”, said Tanya Todorova.

The Chairperson of the Razgrad Municipal Council Galina Georgieva and the Chairperson of the competition jury Evgeni Zhelyazkov welcomed the participants and wished them success.

Traditionally, the youngest participant in the competition drew the draw for the order of appearance in the groups. This year, there were 29 participants in the competition, including two pianists from St. Petersburg.

The music competition, which takes place every odd year, is organized by the “Ilia Burnev” Music School at the “Razvitie” community center in partnership with the Regional History Museum and with the financial support of the Razgrad Municipality.
The competition is aimed at children and young people studying piano in music schools, art schools, music classes, and private teachers. Its strategic goal is to discover and promote young and talented performers.
