May 24 – Day of Bulgarian Education and Culture and Slavic Writing – was solemnly celebrated at “Vazrazhdane” Square in Razgrad. Representatives of the Regional Historical Museum – Razgrad took part in the festive events.

After the anthem of Bulgarian education, “Vurvi, narode vazrodeni” (“Go Ahead, Enlightened People”), performed by the “Zhelezni Struni” choir, wreaths and flowers were laid in the square in front of the monument to the disciples of Saints Cyril and Methodius.

Two representatives of the Regional History Museum – Razgrad — Viktor Kostadinov PhD, curator at “Ananie Yavashov” House Museum and tour guide Galin Donchev — laid a wreath and bowed before the monument in tribute to the work of Saints Cyril and Methodius. Afterwards, the museum representatives joined the festive procession, marched through the central part of the city, and took part in the events dedicated to May 24.

On this festive day, an awards ceremony honoring distinguished figures in education and culture from the municipality was held at the Municipal Cultural Center of Razgrad. The designer of the Regional History Museum – Razgrad, Mihail Marinov, was awarded the high distinction “Cultural Figure” 2026 for his significant achievements in the field of culture. At the ceremony, his certificate was presented by Deputy Mayor Polina Ivanova, with wishes for further success. As a designer, Mihail Marinov is responsible for the exhibition design of displays organized by the Regional History Museum – Razgrad, as well as for guest exhibitions hosted by the museum.

On this festive day, following a kind invitation from the leadership of Secondary School “Hristo Botev” Razgrad, the school was visited by Kalina Karbasheva, Head of the “Administrative and Economic” Department at the Regional History Museum – Razgrad. She presented a congratulatory address to the school principal, Rositsa Stoyanova, on behalf of the museum director, Tania Todorova, with wishes for continued success in this noble endeavor.
