On March 5, Thursday, at 5:30 PM, a meeting-talk with Katya Zografova on the topic “Women in History and Culture” will take place at the “Ananie Yavashov” house-museum in Razgrad, organized by the Regional History Museum.

All fans of the famous writer and literary historian will be able to ask questions and learn interesting facts from her research activities in preparing and writing a number of biographies of famous Bulgarian writers and artists. She herself has an interesting biography, from which it is evident that her vocation, in addition to books, is also museum work.

The literary historian, literary critic and writer was born in 1957 in Panagyurishte. She graduated from Bulgarian Philology at the Plovdiv University “Paisiy Hilendarski”. In 1989, she won a competition and started working at the National Literary Museum in Sofia. For years, she was the director of the “Nikola Vaptsarov” house-museum (2002 – 2009, 2016 -), and from 2010 to 2016 she was the director of the National Literary Museum. She has over 600 publications in the print media. She participates in publications in research collections, compiles and forewords to books, writes about Bulgarian writers and artists.

In her books, dedicated to prominent Bulgarian artists, there are facts about their lives that are not found in other sources. She is a consultant on documentary films about Elisaveta Bagryana, Ivan Nenov, Nikola Vaptsarov, and the legendary cafe “Tsar Osvoboditel”. The main focus of her research is the period of the 1920s-1940s. Literary critic and author of a number of publications.

The Regional History Museum organized the meeting with Katya Zografova on the eve of March 8, thus emphasizing the significant contribution of women to Bulgarian history and culture.
