For the second year in a row, the Regional History Museum invites the children of Razgrad from grades 1 to 5 and their peers, who will be visiting their grandparents during the summer vacation, to participate in the educational program “One day in Abritus”.

This year, the three-week program starts on July 3, will continue until July 21, and is extremely renewed and enriched with new games and surprises.

The museum specialists will lead the classes on the territory of the “Abritus” Archaeological Reserve. Every day of the week is themed. The program includes educational talks, films, workshops, ancient sports and board games, organizing and visiting a market, a defile with antique clothing, archaeological excavations…

The treasure hunt will be entirely under new rules. The idea is to transport the little curiosities to ancient Rome with the time machine.

This summer, children enrolled in the program will experience the art of laying Roman mosaics. They will process clay, show in an exhibition, and then take home the vessel they made as a souvenir. They will also have the opportunity to make models of the ancient Abritus.

In the third week are the beliefs and rituals of that time. Children will learn what “Saturnalia” is – a ritual preceding the now familiar Christmas; they will understand what a legion is and will be in a workshop making shields, swords, spears and helmets. And at the end they will work with real maps of ancient Rome.

And that’s not all: surprises follow one after another. Anyone who wants to get involved can do so with a prior request until June 16 /including/ at tel.: +359 879 81 67 38 during working hours. The program is weekly, you can participate on all days, but you can also choose a certain day of the week according to individual preferences.

The fee is 35 BGN per participant for a five-day program and 8 BGN for one day.

Important clarification – transport is NOT OFFERED in the organization!
