One of the popular traveling expositions of the Gorno-Oryahov Museum “Alcohol & Packaging” will visit Razgrad at the invitation of the Regional History Museum.

The exhibition will be opened on April 8 at 5:30 p.m. in the Ethnographic Museum. A special guest will be Plamen Mademov, director of the museum in Gorna Oryahovitsa.

The exhibition presents different types of alcohol bottles, decanters, glasses, mugs, soda bottles, sample labels and other different and interesting items for alcohol, soft drinks and their packaging.

Among the exhibits, a “double” bottle for cooling wine, siphons and bottles for soda, lemonade and other carbonated “companions” of alcohol occupy their important place. Several collections of glass bottles of different shapes and capacities are especially beautiful. In the exhibition you can see the old lemonade bottles with a “crown” type closure. Other non-standard methods of closing bottles are also shown. The exhibition includes many black and white photos with different “alcohol” messages. Some of them depict typically Bulgarian tavern-heroic scenes, as well as advertisements for beer, which was still gaining popularity in our country at the beginning of the 20th century. A special place in the exhibition is occupied by the company “Vasil P. Bulanov”, represented by the donations of his granddaughter.

“Alcohol and packaging” was established in 2006 and has been traveling and visiting various museums in the country for 18 years. It is the first of the “Vices” trilogy. The second is “Tobacco and other” and the last – “Sugar and coffee”. A very successful tongue-in-cheek nod to the late 19th to mid-20th century – to human foibles or cuteness.

The exhibition will remain in the Ethnographic Museum in Razgrad until the end of April.
