The medals and battle decorations of Todor Nikolov Todorov from the village of Ezerche – a participant in both phases of the Second World War, are now part of the rich fund of the “New and Recent History” department of the Regional History Museum.
They were a gift from Elenka Todorova Demerdzhieva-Izvorova, daughter of the front-line soldier. She was born on October 4, 1943 in Ezerche and 22 years of her professional career were spent in the representative office of “Antibiotic” – Razgrad in Sofia.

“My father was a participant in both phases of the 1944-1945 war. He was in the close circle of the commander of the First Bulgarian Army, gen. Vladimir Stoychev. Farmer by conviction. After the war, he worked as a harvester in Bobov dol. He retired as a miner in Rudozem”, says Elenka Demerdzhieva.

Among Todor Todorov’s medals are: a medal with a certificate on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the victory over fascism in 2015; World War II Victory 60th Anniversary Medal, 2005; medal on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of the victory over Hitler-fascism, 1985; End of World War II Medal, 1945; Russian medal on the occasion of the 65th anniversary of the victory in the Great Patriotic War, 2010; medal, on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the victory over fascist Germany, 1975; Ukrainian medal on the occasion of the 65th anniversary of the victory in the Great Patriotic War.
The donation also includes black and white photos of generals Krastanov and Gramenov and associate professor Ivan Todorov Demerdzhiev, brother of Elenka Demerdzhieva.
The giver received her certificate from the curator at RHM-Razgrad, Neno Yakimov.
