As part of her official visit to Razgrad during the Yogurt Fair and the Festival of Folk Traditions and Artistic Knowledge, on July 23, the Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba to Bulgaria, H.E. Marieta Garcia Jordan, visited and examined the sites of the Regional History Museum. She was accompanied by the First Secretary and Consul at the Embassy of the Republic of Cuba in Bulgaria, Roberto Vizcaino Martinez.

At the Ethnographic Museum, the Cuban delegation was welcomed by the Director of the Regional Historical Museum, Tanya Todorova, who warmly welcomed them and kindly invited them to view the exhibits. The diplomats showed great interest in the exhibition “Goldsmithing in Panagyurishte – Tradition and Development”, and the Director, Tanya Todorova, provided them with detailed information about the most interesting exhibits in this unique exhibition.

At the Ethnographic Museum, Ambassador Marieta Jordan and Consul Roberto Martinez also viewed the exhibition in the hall, which presents folk costumes, ritual breads, symbols of Bulgarian customs such as survaknitsi and martenitsa. The guests received a lot of information about the life and customs of the local population.

Then, H.E. Marieta Jordan and Consul Roberto Martinez visited the Archaeological Exhibition in Abritus, where the tour guide Victoria Valcheva introduced them to the exhibits from the Roman past. Together with Dr. Viktor Kostadinov, curator of the Regional History Museum, the official guests also visited the open part of Abritus – the lapidarium, the peristyle complex, the northern gate and the fortress. They were also delighted with a modern facility in the Abritus area – the Teatron stage – a place for reenactments dedicated to the life of the Romans. At the end of the visit, the Cuban diplomats thanked for the unique experiences during the visit to Abritus, through which they learned a lot about Razgrad and the region.
