On November 1 – the Day of the People’s Awakeners – Prof. Dr. Rositsa Angelova presented her latest book “Historical Education through the Renaissance”.

And the author was presented to the people of Razgrad by the director of the Regional History Museum, Tanya Todorova.

In the comfort of Academician Ananie Yavashov’s home, Prof. Rositsa Angelova – head of the “New and Recent History” department at the Regional Museum of History in Razgrad and lecturer at “Bishop Konstantin Preslavski” Shumen University said that she was happy with the fact that the book is published in the year in which we celebrate the 300th anniversary of the birth of Paisiy Hilendarski, the 260th anniversary of the writing of the “Slavic Bulgarian History”, which marks the beginning of the Bulgarian revival and the process of forming our national self-awareness as Bulgarians and a nation, and 60 years since the act by which the Bulgarian Orthodox Church canonized hieroman Paisii Hilendarski as a saint. And that the premiere of her latest scientific work on the day that marks exactly 100 years since the Day of the People’s Wakers was celebrated as a holiday for the first time, makes the event even more special for her.

“Because the messages of Paisius about Bulgarian literature, church and freedom reached his followers during the Renaissance and the crown of what they did was the birth of the Third Bulgarian State,” said Prof. Angelova.

The book traces the development of history as a subject of study, the appearance of textbooks, helpers and aids in history and pedagogy, their specificity and originality, as well as the connections with European achievements in the field of history in the period under consideration.

Among those who came to the presentation of Prof. Rositsa Angelova’s book were the deputy mayor Dobrin Dobrev and the chairman of the Municipal Council Stoyan Nenchev, the regional and deputy regional governors Dragomir Zlatev and Nayden Kusov, teachers, former students of hers – now teachers.

Finally, Prof. Rositsa Angelova thanked the Razgrad audience for the interest in her and her book “Historical Education through the Renaissance”.
