Historian Prof. Petko Petkov will be visiting Razgrad at the invitation of the Regional History Museum. He will present his latest book “Roads to Liberation” on February 27, at 5:30 p.m., at the Ethnographic Museum.
The meeting will be moderated by the head of the Department of New and Recent History at the RHM – Razgrad, Prof. Rositsa Angelova PhD.
The latest book by Prof. Petko St. Petkov PhD contains selected studies and articles from 2009 to 2020, presents his scientific research and achievements over the last decade and is a natural continuation of the two previously published collections: “History as Polyphony” (2005) and “A Hundred and More Years Ago” (2009).
Prof. Petko St. Petkov PhD is a long-time lecturer at the Faculty of History of the University of Veliko Tarnovo “St. Cyril and Methodius”.
He is the author of monographs, studies and articles, textbooks and teaching aids on the modern history of Bulgaria.
“At the meeting we will be able to talk about the Russo-Turkish War of 1877-1878, but also about what is happening in Bulgaria and after it. We will discuss with Prof. Petkov about Shipka Peak and St. Nicholas Peak, about his ideas on whether the anniversary of Vasil Levski’s death should be celebrated on February 18 or 19, and also what our National Holiday should be – March 3 or May 24”, announced the upcoming event Prof. Rositsa Angelova.
