The Regional History Museum remains true to the tradition of promoting the movable cultural values from its collections in an original way.
The newly published luxury multi-page calendar for 2025 with photos presents Razgrad in the 20th century. Also included are photos from the campaign “To the donors – with gratitude”, in which dozens of Razgrad residents participated. The title panoramic photo is a gift from Yordan Strandzhev with a view of the high school in the middle of the last century. There are also photos donated by the editorial board of the newspaper “Ekip 7”.
The calendar is the work of museum workers from the department of “New and Recent History”, headed by Prof. Rositsa Angelova PhD. The layout is by the museum’s designer, Mihail Marinov.
“Our idea was to present life in Razgrad in the 20th century, but also to build a bridge to what we will work on and reflect on in 2025. The calendar begins with the symbols of Razgrad from the Liberation, but in addition to them, we also show the people, because the spirit and breath of the times should always be felt”, says Prof. Angelova.
The calendar features significant architectural achievements, the founder of museum work in Razgrad and the first archaeological excavations Ananie Yavashov, the pianist and composer Dimitar Nenov, Razgrad schools and various spheres of life – trade, culture, sports. There are also the faces of ordinary people, because memory is also connected to each individual person.
“My expectations are that the calendar will be liked because it is a sentiment towards the people of Razgrad, towards their lives, towards their past, but also with a view towards future generations through the prism of their great-grandmothers and great-grandfathers, parents and loved ones. I hope that we will awaken memories and encourage the donation campaign in 2125 as well, because only with the joint efforts of people can the museum preserve and protect memory”, adds Prof. Rositsa Angelova.
The calendar will reach all cultural institutes in Razgrad, it will be received in many museums, universities, organizations and departments in the country with which RHM – Razgrad partners.
It can be purchased for 20 leva at the museum’s Ticket Center – tel.: 0878 90 14 39.
In three consecutive years so far, in luxurious multi-leaf calendars, the museum has presented 12 archaeological-themed movable cultural assets, then men’s and women’s ornaments, as well as icon, gospel, firearms, swords and scimitars in the calendar for the year 2024.
