For the third year in a row, the Regional History Museum invites the children of Razgrad from grades 1 to 5 and their peers, who will be visiting the capital of the Ludogorie during the summer vacation, to join the educational program “Adventures in Abritus”.
The program is three weeks long: July 1-5; July 8-12 and July 15-19: from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Updated and supplemented with new games and surprises, it guarantees unforgettable adventures to the girls and boys who join it.
The museum specialists will lead the classes in the Interactive Museum and on the territory of the “Abritus” Archaeological Reserve. Every day of the week is themed. The program includes educational talks, films, workshops, ancient sports and board games, quizzes, organizing and visiting a market, a visit to an ancient theater, a defile with antique clothing, archaeological excavations… All activities that, like a time machine, will take the new friends to the museum in ancient Rome.
Children will learn what a legion is and will be in a workshop making shields, swords, spears and helmets. They will see and work with real maps of ancient Rome.
On different days, they will work with clay, they will mint a souvenir coin themselves, they will look for treasures. They will touch the mystical world of the gods, they will learn unknown things about the beliefs and religions of the Romans. But they will have fun like the children in ancient times.
And that’s just part of the Adventures in Abritus summer education program. Inclusion takes place by pre-registration until June 28, 2024 or until the vacancies are exhausted – every weekday from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on the phone of the museum educator Hristo Hristov: 0876 97 82 37.
The fee is BGN 50 per participant for a five-day program. Applications are accepted for one full weekly program.
