A stylish celebration on the occasion of the International Day of Francophonie /March 20/ and the 30th anniversary of the signing of the Charter of friendship between Chalons-en-Champagne and Razgrad hosted the house-museum “Ananie Yavashov”. In the cozy atmosphere of Café Francophone, organized by the Regional History Center at the Regional History Museum and the Association “Friends of France – Razgrad”, there were members of the association and friends of the french language. Deputy Mayor Dobrin Dobrev was also a guest of the francophone society in Razgrad.
The evening was opened by the head of the “New and Recent History” department in RHM-Razgrad, Prof. Rositsa Angelova PhD, who recalled that the interest of the people of Razgrad in french culture and language dates back to the beginning of the 19th century, when young people from the capital in Ludogorie they studied at the French lyceum in Constantinople, and after the Liberation – at elite universities in France. And the International day of francophonie is also a celebration of the values of peace, democracy, human rights, tolerance, empathy, solidarity, linguistic and cultural diversity and is celebrated by francophones all over the world.
Svetla Todorova, a student at Shumen University “Bishop Konstantin of Preslav” and a graduate of the French class at FLS “Ekzarh Yosiff” in Razgrad, greeted the “visitors” in the cafe in French.
The chairwoman of the “Friends of France – Razgrad” Association, Tsonka Doneva, told the background and diversity of the already thirty-year friendship between Razgrad and Chalon-en-Champagne.
The evening passed under the sounds and texts of beloved and eternal French chansons, poetry in French, sharing unforgettable memories and conversations between toasts /of course – in French/ and eating sweet delights based on original French recipes.
