On May 6, a celebration of the Day of Bravery and the holiday of the Bulgarian Army took place in Razgrad at “Vazrazhdane” Square.

The ceremony, organized by the Municipality of Razgrad in partnership with the Military District Office and the Union of Reserve Officers and Sergeants (UROS), took place in front of the monument of Saint George—a memorial honoring the soldiers from Razgrad who died in the wars for national unification and in World War II. Many citizens gathered, and the event was attended by municipal and regional officials, members of parliament from the Razgrad district, and students.

In front of the monument of St. George, wreaths and flowers were laid by the grateful citizens of Razgrad. The first to lay a wreath was the mayor of the city, Dobrin Dobrev. Two representatives of the Regional Historical Museum – Razgrad also laid flowers. Kalina Karbasheva, head of the “Administrative and Economic” department at the RHM, and the curator of the “Ananie Yavashov” house-museum, Viktor Kostadinov, bowed before the monument, symbolizing the bravery of the Bulgarian soldiers who gave their lives for free Bulgaria.

They attended the announcement of the winners of the “Bulgarian Memory” competition and the awarding of distinguished members of the Union of Reserve Officers and Sergeants (UROS) – Razgrad, as well as the subsequent events in the square. At the ceremony, the idea of establishing a Youth Guard Unit in Razgrad was presented, aiming to promote the voluntary association of young people interested in preserving the sources of national dignity.
