The creative mother-daughter tandem: Boyana Ilieva – writer, and Radina Rosenova – artist, descendants of Georgi Benkovski, will present the book “Thirst” in their native Razgrad. The event will take place on May 29 at 6 p.m. at the Ethnographic Museum.
Life begins to write this book in Boyana’s soul – for 25 long years far from her native land. “I searched for a title for a long time… I searched for one word that would say it all! One day, traveling through the mystical Rhodope Mountains, I drank water from a spring. That same night I woke up and a single word rang in my head: THIRST… As if the water was commanding me to tell about the magic of this land, about the power of this people… a people doomed to exist!”, shares the author Boyana Ilieva.
The rich illustrations in the book are by her daughter Radina.
Boyana and Radina are the creators of the ROD® – GENUS® Collection brand, dedicated to the interpretation and dissemination of ancient Bulgarian symbols and embroideries, which they weave into interior, exterior, fashion design and the design of luxury gold jewelry.
In 2023, Boyana and Radina founded the Rod Foundation and one of the initiatives brings hope to “Find a Family for Christmas”, which brings together children and adults from social homes. The goal is for these meetings to happen monthly.
