Together with the museum specialists, an interdisciplinary team of experts is also participating in the development of the Project “Design and Creation of a Thematic Exhibition Plan for a New Permanent Exhibition of the Regional History Museum – Razgrad”, funded by the Ministry of Culture:
- Prehistory – Assoc. Prof. Kamen Boyadzhiev PhD, a specialist in the field of prehistory, will consult on the presentation of artifacts from the Paleolithic, Neolithic and Eneolithic periods;
- Thracology and Antiquity – Prof. Dilyana Boteva, an established scholar in the field of Thracology and ancient history, will help develop the parts of the exhibition related to the Thracians and the Roman era;
- Numismatics – Prof. Zhenya Zhekova PhD from the Regional History Museum – Shumen, a lecturer at Sofia University and a prominent specialist in the field of numismatics. She will participate in the development of the numismatic part of the exhibition;
- Middle Ages – Prof. Stella Doncheva PhD, archaeologist and lecturer at the Shumen University “Bishop Konstantin Preslavski”. She will consult on the presentation of artifacts from the period of the First and Second Bulgarian Kingdoms;
- Weapons – Simeon Tsvetkov expert in weapons and medals and curator at the Regional History Museum – Veliko Tarnovo. He will develop the concept for the armory.
All external consultants are professionals with proven experience – scientists with established authority in various fields. Their participation guarantees the high scientific and cultural level of the exhibition content.
Let us recall that at the end of 2024, the Regional Historical Museum – Razgrad concluded a contract with the Ministry of Culture for the implementation of a project of “Design and creation of a thematic exhibition plan for a new permanent exhibition of the Regional Historical Museum – Razgrad” in the amount of 157,932.70 BGN under a scheme for a competitive session for targeted financing of projects in the field of movable cultural heritage.
The project aims to develop design documentation for a modern and innovative exhibition that will present the rich cultural heritage of the region in an attractive and accessible way.
Partners in the project are the Municipality of Razgrad and the National Archaeological Institute with Museum – Bulgarian Academy of Sciences (NAIM-BAS).
