85-year-old Bonka Andreeva donated the lace from her wedding chaise to the Regional History Museum.

“The laces are part of my wedding favor, prepared by my grandmother and mother”, says Bonka Andreeva, who older residents of Razgrad remember as an organizer or host at the Razgrad representative office of the Union of Bulgarian Artists, popularly known as the House of Artists in the “Varosh” district.

The laces are made of cotton and wool, hand-knitted – with a crochet hook. The wool is from the native village of the giver – Dibich, Shumen municipality. All are in their natural color, except for the yellow one, which is dyed with natural dye.

The donation also includes two machine-knitted laces, but their ends were ruffled into fringes by Bonka Andreeva’s grandmother.

Bonka Andreeva has spent 37 years of her professional career as an accountant and chief accountant at the joint stock company “Stokovi semena” – Razgrad. She has a daughter – an IT specialist at the Electricity Distribution Company in Varna. She is the grandmother of a grandson and granddaughter and the great-grandmother of a boy and a girl.

Bonka Andreeva donated to the museum the anniversary leaflet for the 25th anniversary of the joint stock company “Sortovi semena”, as well as two catalogs – publications of the Union of Bulgarian Artists – Razgrad.

The donation certificate was presented to her by the curator at RHM-Razgrad Neno Yakimov.
