Specialists from the Regional History Museum in Razgrad had prepared a special program for the beginning of the summer tourist season for their first guests. The museum has summer opening hours from 9.30 am to 6.00 pm, including Saturday and Sunday, from April 1 to the last day of October. For group visits, a prior request will be required on tel.: 0879 81 67 38 and 0878 90 14 39.
Today, at the threshold of the Interactive Museum on the territory of the ancient Abritus, animators dressed in Roman clothes welcomed students from two Razgrad schools: “V.Levski” and “N.Vaptsarov”, the Deputy Mayor of Razgrad Polina Ivanova, third graders from 81 innovative SU – Sofia – collective winners of the national student competition named after Grigor Popov, and citizens who came especially for the opening of the tourist season. In front of them, the main tour guide Slavyana Tsoneva presented the enriched seasonal program for tourists. Children had the opportunity to dress up in antique clothing and take a keepsake photo with the new self-portrait frame. With great curiosity, they participated in the updated (with the possibility of parents also participating) illustrated quiz “Play and learn with us”, in which they had to find where the exhibit from the photo is located in the outdoor or indoor museum expositions.
The girls, boys and Deputy Mayor Polina Ivanova were the first to have the opportunity to play board games from Antiquity and the Middle Ages – Roman chess Rota, checkers and knights, one of the new attractions in the Interactive Museum. They also arranged puzzles with mosaics from the museum and with a photo of the Peristyle building /”Villa Urbana”/. The puzzles can also be bought as gifts for relatives and acquaintances with an invitation and they can visit the ancient “Abritus”.
Starting this year, visitors to the Regional History Museum in Razgrad will be able to use the audio guide service, through which they can receive detailed information about the history of Abritus in six European languages: Bulgarian, English, German, Russian, French and Romanian in a 30-minute radio talk.
New in the showcases of the Interactive Museum is the “Exhibit of the Month”, from the museum’s fund and chosen by the museum’s staff. In April, it is a helmet /Thracian-Chalkidian type/ from the second half of the 4th century – the beginning of the 3rd century BC from the land of Zavet.
Children from Razgrad and guests of the city during the summer vacation will be able during the first three weeks of July to participate in the educational program “One day in Abritus”, said today Slavyana Tsoneva. The unique content of the program aims to introduce the new little friends of the museum to the ancient past of Razgrad, to the life and culture of Abritus in a fun and interesting way. The program includes educational talks, films, creative games and quizzes that take children to ancient Rome. As well as a photo with antique clothes as a souvenir of the Day in Abritus.
After the walk through the halls on the two floors of the Interactive Museum, the children went to the Peristyle building /”Villa Urbana”/, where they took a group photo against the background of the colonnade and the colored smoke.
“Good luck to the new tourist season! Updated exposure fresh and wonderful ideas! With the most wonderful impressions and beautiful emotions!” and “A modern approach to the formation of knowledge in adolescents. An interesting exposure that students take in an innovative way! Good luck and have a good time!”, were two of the impressions shared from the experience today at the museum.
