A large group of 6th and 7th grade students from the “N. Y. Vaptsarov” Primary School, led by art teacher Katya Daskalova, visited the Regional History Museum in Razgrad on the occasion of the city’s holiday. They were welcomed in the conference hall of the Interactive Museum by its director Tanya Todorova.
The school’s graduates presented a short congratulatory program with poems and a song about Razgrad. They visited the ancient fortress of Abritus and got acquainted with the symbols of the city, learning interesting facts about the Golden Pegasus, depicted on the coat of arms of Razgrad. The students also participated in an educational game, through which they discovered new knowledge about key historical periods.

The visit is part of the national program “Innovations in Action”, which encourages the exchange of good practices between schools. At the “N. Y. Vaptsarov” Primary School, on the initiative of Katya Daskalova, the innovative 4-year program “Ludogorie – past and present” is being implemented. Its goal is for students to become closely acquainted with the traditions and customs of the region.

Within the framework of the joint work with the museum, the students have so far studied the activities of the Ethnographic Museum, have undergone practical classes and have studied ritual rituals. The program also includes visits to the community center in the village of Getsovo to study the customs of the Kapan people. Katya Daskalova expressed gratitude to Tanya Todorova for the successful partnership with the museum and the Art Gallery “Prof. Iliya Petrov”, which enriches the knowledge of the children in an attractive way.
On the holiday day, the exhibitions of “Abritus” were also visited by official delegations from the twin cities of Calarasi (Romania) and Szombathely (Hungary). At the same time, the graduates of KG No. 2 “Ludogorche” paid tribute to the work of Stanka and Nikola Ikonov in the House Museum of the same name.
