On October 6, the retrospective exhibition “A Flower Beneath the Oak” opened at the Prof. Iliya Petrov Art Gallery in Razgrad, featuring 50 works by the artist Mara Nonova-Chorbadzhiyska (1894–1974)—wife of the artist, humorist, and writer Dimitar Chorbadzhiyski (Chudomir). The exhibition is a traveling collection from the Kazanlak Literary and Art Museum, comprising 50 works.

Tanya Todorova, Director of the Regional History Museum in Razgrad, attended the opening. During the event, she met with Dobrina Matova, Director of the “Kazanlak” Museum of Literature and Art; Boris Karchev, Chairman of the “Chudomir” Foundation; and Prof. Marin Dobrev PhD, an art history lecturer at Veliko Tarnovo University and author of a monograph on the artist. In their conversation with Tanya Todorova, the guests from Kazanlak mentioned that this was their first visit to Razgrad and expressed their delight with the atmosphere and the capabilities of the “Prof. Iliya Petrov” Gallery for showcasing artworks.

Tanya Todorova invited the guests from Kazanlak to visit the museum sites at Abritus, which showcase Razgrad’s ancient past and in which the guests had shown great interest. The following day—October 7—Prof. Marin Dobrev PhD, Dobrina Mitova, and Boris Karchev accepted Ms. Todorova’s kind invitation and visited Abritus. They toured the permanent archaeological exhibition “Traces of Antiquity” as well as the Interactive Museum.
Victoria Valcheva, the head tour guide at the Regional History Museum (RHM), provided them with a comprehensive overview of the exhibition’s most interesting artifacts and the wealth of information available in the Interactive Museum. Director Tanya Todorova expressed her pleasure at the visit from their colleagues from Kazanlak and presented them with a souvenir featuring information about Abritus. Inter-institutional cooperation and the exchange of experience are integral to the successful operations of the Razgrad museum. The visiting guests from Kazanlak are prominent local history researchers, historians, and connoisseurs of the artistic and historical legacy of the Kazanlak-based artist couple Mara and Dimitar Chorbadzhiyski.
