Children from first to fourth grade from all Razgrad schools responded to the invitation of the Regional Historical Museum in Razgrad and the Prosveta community center in the village of Topchii and will participate in the creative workshop for martenitsa.

It will be open from February 24 to 28 at the Ethnographic House. There, museum specialists and community center workers will help their little friends make their own martenitsa for themselves or someone in the family.

“We will show the children different techniques for making traditional Bulgarian martenitsa – Pizho and Penda for hanging on clothing or somewhere in the home, as well as a bracelet for the hand”, says museum educator Hristo Hristov.

While at the Ethnographic Museum, girls and boys will learn legends about martenitsa, as well as how the Kapans made their spring symbols.
