On October 5, the third edition of the Regional History Museum’s educational program “From Egypt… to Scandinavia” began at the Ethnographic Museum in Razgrad.

The program has returned with new gatherings, games, and historical adventures; it offers students an innovative way to study history and sparks their interest in the development of civilizations. Engaging educational talks form the core of this week’s edition of the program, covering four civilizations: Egypt, Ancient Greece, the long-standing Roman Empire, and Scandinavia.
On the first day of the program, its creator—museum educator Hristo Hristov—gave presentations rich in fascinating facts about the several millennia of history covered by “From Egypt to… Scandinavia.” The children viewed large display panels featuring photographs of the four civilizations and engaged with the information presented in this modern, visual format. At tables in the Ethnographic Museum’s exhibition hall, the students also played recreations of board games from antiquity and the Middle Ages. Participants in the third edition of the educational program received answers from Hristo Hristov to all their questions regarding the lives, mores, and customs of the historical periods covered by the program.

In 2024, the program’s inaugural edition brought together over 500 children, and the following year, it expanded its reach to include students from Loznitsa and Isperih. Early this year, the initiative took another significant step forward by becoming mobile; its creator, museum educator Hristo Hristov, presented the initiative’s four civilizations to high school students from the Geo Milev Language High School in Dobrich.

We remind you that the initiative at the Ethnographic Museum (part of the Razgrad Regional History Museum) runs until October 16; while primarily designed for lower secondary school students (grades 5–7), the activities can be adapted for younger or older students as well.
